Evening guys!

Just a quick question, I'm looking to upgrade my headphones from the plantronics gamescom 780.

I need some that are good for gaming, I play a lot of counter strike, so ideally I'd need some that are really precise that pinpoint foot step locations etc.

Budget is £120.

Thanks in advance!

My review

However, in all honesty for less than a hundred bucks I personally think they are superb! Equally as good as, and certainly comfier than my Sennheiser 363D's. That said they have the G4ME zero's, still twice the price.

I personally think you can't go wrong, but sound is a personal thing really. Try them and if you don't like them dsr them?

The Hyper X headset are meant to be good, other than that I'd go with a proper headphone not a headset.

@ welshdragon I've been looking at your site, you got Bitfenix to send you a Neos...did you have to give it back? Blimey I've got to start my own review site methinks.

Nice review!

I've read a lot of good things about the mionix, so its definetly up there on my to buy list.

I'm not someone who is obsessed with perfect sound so it won't bother me to much, just looking for a nice upgrade, the main thing is footstep location and that sort of thing, and i've heard these are good in that sense.

The Hyper X clouds? i've heard they are good also!

I think it would be best if i get a headset as a microphone is a must for me, and i'm not to clued up on desktop mics etc.

If i was to buy them, would it be worth getting a dedicated sound card? atm i just use onboard.

Depends on your on-board. I always thought I was happy with onboard until I installed a Creative Z soundcard. Difference is night and day to be honest and I wish I had got one sooner.

That said boards are now starting to realise they need better and are featuring creative modules etc

Personally I feel if you are spending that much on a headset you need a dedicated card to get the best of it

So maybe go for the hyperX and a sound card? cause if i wasto buy the mionix, i doubt i could stretch the budget for a sound card.

you wouldn't need a soundcard they are 32 ohm you would probably benefit from a soundcard for soudn quality sake but only your ears will know if theres any difference.
