Hello guys! Thanks for reading.

I'm basically looking at spending around 2,000 - 2,250 on a PC which is to include peripherals and a fresh install on Windows 7 (Not going with Windows 8, as far as I'm concerned it can stay on an Windows phone where it belongs).

I am very much into my Music Producing, however I will not need a Soundcard due to my own equipment that I have currently, I will be using it do some very minor video / photo editing but primarily for gaming. I'm a fan of being able to play FPS games without any FPS lag and any slows and I know that a lot of that is to do with the internet but with £2000 I am looking at basically getting as much performance as possible at stock speeds. I might consider overclocking in the distant future but for now, it doesn't concern me to much.

I will post my current list that I have in another post and would welcome any feedback!

(Struggling with whether to go with Haswell or stick with 3rd Gen. I'm also struggling with RAM Latency times over the MHZ).

Thank you once again!

Hmm, I'd appreciate it if somebody could also explain how to copy and paste my basket with the links in, similar to other posts?

Truthfully, there is no real reason.. It looks like a solid board and I've always wanted to try out a ROG board so I guess that's the reasoning behind it.

For example, if I get a 2400 MHZ Stick with 10 - 10 - 10 - 10 - 32 timings compared to a 1866Mhz with9 -9 - 9- 9 - 24, what RAM would be better in performance for gaming and for programs such as Ableton, Cubase and Fruity Loops for music production which is quite demanding on RAM, not so much as Video editing / rendering I'd imagine.

If you were to get a cheaper board, the money saved could be put towards faster ram and a decent cooler. And, if you are not likely to go sli in the future, you could save a bit more on the board and Psu.

Do you have any suggestions for faster RAM? :) Money isn't to much of an issue. I believe the MOBO to be the very core of the PC, It doesn't matter if you have a fast bit of equipment if it needs to go through a slow mobo. I've had very bad experiences with Motherboards recently so thought it'd be time to spend a bit more on them :)

The RAM Idleman quoted would be fine. You could spend more and go for Corsair Dominator or something, but to be honest you wouldn't see any benefit for the extra money unless you were benchmarking.

Have a look at some of the "spec me" threads in General Hardware and you will notice the majority of Haswell builds have 2133 or 2400 Mhz ram. Haswell chips and the Z87 are built for fast ram. You don`t necessarily need a £180 mobo to benefit from faster clocked ram.

Any way, which part of Leicester are you from, as I know it well.

I've lived all over haha, at the moment I'm in South Wigston! How do you know Leicester? I've tried browsing through a few of the threads, just struggling to get my head around it all and felt like I needed to speak to a few people myself :)

Complete "Themed" build above, Orange and Black suit you sir? Includes the a monitor, mouse, keyboard and a copy of windows 7.

Notice that the RAM is 2400MHz so its nice and fast!

That motherboard is highly regarded in the Overclocking world as the best overclocker in its price range, just ask our resident world champion 8 Pack!

I've been speaking to 8 Pack on another Thread haha, thank you very much for your help!

Idleman - Oh dear, Beaumont Leys haha! Small world, hey?
