Hi guys, I really could do with some help here.

I recently built a new computer,

Gigabyte 8900GPA-UD3H motherboard
4 gig corsair ram
AMD 4 core processor

The motherboard died on me, I have 2 500 gig drives running in a raid 0 array.

I got the same motherboard and put it all back together, I set the drives up the same in the bios. However now the computer starts to boot, the swirly colour dots come on and then it reboots, this continues. The repair section is of no use. I have photographs that I need to get off the raid array ( I know it’s a stupid set up)

During boot up it one of the screens lists that its seen the raid array and even recognises both as 999gig and that its functional.

I understand Windows 7 can be a problem when you change a major component; however this is the same board spec.

If I can get it to boot I can get the pictures back and do a fresh install in a more sensible manner.

Help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have possibly got something setup wrong in the bios for the raid array. Either that or perhaps when your motherboard died it damaged your array ?

have you also checked the BIOS on the new motherboard is the same version as the one on your old motherboard ?

Looks like I may have it sorted.

I got a spare hard drive, did a fresh windows install. Installed all drivers for MB, then I got the drive array and plugged it in. Thankfully its allowed me to access the drives. I'm now copying data off to a safe place.

next it will be to get some drives and build a mirror array.

I've learnt my lesson.
