Need Help please

Hello guys

i have been looking on google to see if i can overclock my CPU but for some reason cant find any information out i can touch any of my cpu settings in bios because it wont let me it is all grey

my hardware is:

Mobo: MSI 2A9C
Cpu: Intel core i3 540 @ 3.07

If anybody can help me it would be much appreciated.

I can't seem to find much info on that board but it seems from ur post that it is locked, was it a pre-built system ? and if it was what is the make and model No. ?

Yes it was pre built it is a HP IDK THE name of it

unfortunately you cant overclock 99% of OEM PCs. its to stop people that are very computer illiterate from bricking their PC. you can imagine how many people would go "hey, i can make it go faster, lets put it to its maximum setting and see what happens"

because of the cost of getting a motherboard where you can overclock with that socket, if you do want a boost in CPU performance your either going to have to buy a new CPU (make sure the motherboard supports it!) or buy a new motherboard, CPU and possibly RAM too

And overclock it.
