Need Help Pls Setting Up New System - Cooler

Hi all,

I'm stuck on the heatsink. I got it on the processor, but for the life of me i cant figure out how to use the clips to get the fans to stay on.

Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 (Socket LGA1366 I read the instructions but it just dont make sense.

Any help would be great cos its there, staring at me, taunting me

Dont worry bout the cooler. I sorted it.

Next question is the six 6GB of memory.

On the bard the memory slots are colour coded. 6 of them, going orange , back, orange black,

Can i assume i put the memory in every other slot, i.e. every orange slot?

if it doesnt clarify specifics in the motherboard manual yeah keep the colours matched.

Memory position is ahown in the MB manual. Probably the 3 orange slots.

THanks guys. I need more help. Been at this since 14:00 and its doing my head in.

I can now get to the BIOS, it detects the CD drive but not the HDD????????

Then after about 10 seconds the system shuts down.

Any ideas?

AI can get to hardware monitor before it shuts down. Says the CPU is 85Deg, thats high right?

Yep, you need to make sure you sitted the heatsink correctly, as you did say you were having trouble with it, make sure there is proper contact between the cpu and HS, what thermal paste are you using?
