Hey guys,

I currently own a ASUS XG32VQ and I like it (I have got used to the curve and dont mind it). I recently noticed how bad the backlight bleed is and the smearing/ghosting is getting to me. Was thinking of returning it and getting another a new monitor.

What am I looking for?
• Upto ~ £550 is fine.
• 1440p.
• 144hz.
• Freesync (AMD GPU)
• 27 or 32inch. (Still unsure of the size.)
• Maybe HDR?

I play a range of games, FPS, WoW, Diablo, Assasins creed etc etc. No content creation, and do watch movies, tv shows and youtube as well occasionally.

Would love some suggestions!

OK with curved screens (not sure) I might get the 32" Samsung CHG70.

That said, if you're into really twitchy-fast FPS play you might not be happy with the 4ms G-t-G response time typical on VA panels (hard to tell if the samsung is better, it might be) and should look at IPS or TN... but I've never had an issue with it. But to my mind VA gives the best picture.

Yeh, I've seen a cousins 240hz TN panel, and I can clearly see a difference. I dont play competitive FPS so I'll be happy with a fast VA or IPS.

If smearing/ghosting is a problem then you should look at monitors with Motion Blur Reduction. Easy to spot the ones claiming 1ms MPRT response time.

Yep, they are the ones I've been looking at.

That said, it looks like you already have the XG32VQ, which is already HDR, VA, QHD etc.

I am using a Vega 64, so not exactly a 4K card. I also have a XG32VQ not the XG32VQR which is the HDR variant.

Avoid HDR as it isn't HDR in any meaningful way especially at this price point.

Don't rule out VA , since owning a VA panel my 144hz ips looks awful contrast wise and VA when done right is just as good as a comparable ips.

Going back to 27" , well my 27 looks small on my desk compared to the 32" and much less immersive.

That's one thing that worries me, dropping down from 32" to 27". I've also read about that LG monitor and the review also mentioned the G-SYNC version being a lot better for whatever reason.

No what you have is better than the msi.You would need to look at ips to get rid of the smearing\ghosting.

Yep, that's what I'm looking to do. The LG monitor which everyone pretty much knows does interest me. Shame about stock issues. The gigabyte monitor also, but people have said they had issues with trailing on white text. Lastly theres the samsung chg70 which looks good too but then it's a couple of years old now. Decisions, decisions.
