hey all , built my lad a new pc as a christmas present but im having problems with outputs from the grafix card, its a gigabyte gtx 760 windforce, when i use the dvi-i port on the card all is fine but when i try to use the dvi-d port and i am using a dvi-d cable it shows the boot screen then goes black and gets no output from the card and as he uses 2 screens this is a problem and i have no idea as to what to do
thx nick

Is the monitor DVI-D compatible? DVI-I to DVI-D works as it is non-digital to digital, but the other way around I'm 'fraid not.

just found this on samsung site but not sure what it means
Samsung monitors that are DVI compatible use a DVI-D (Digital) Single Link input cable or a DVI-I (Analog) Single Link cable. You can connect the DVI-D input port on your monitor to a video card that has either: A DVI-D Single or Dual Link output port. A DVI-I Single or Dual Link output [FAQs]

ok so my gfx card has both dvi-i and dvi-d dual link output ports the monitor is a dvi-d dual link and so is the cable but i get no output when its in the dvi-d port of the card once it boots into windows, i can view the bios ok,, but it all works as it should when plugged into the dvi-i port of the card using either a dvi-i or dvi-d lead

Are both monitors the 2443bw? Does both monitors display the BIOS when connected and the DVI-D connected one only goes black when in Windows?

And both monitors will be DVI-D ports as it's very unlikely for them to be DVI-A ports (same signals as a VGA port). DVI-I is capable of outputting both DVI-D and DVI-A.

the 2 monitors are different but both have dvi-d ports on and both do the same thing when plugged in on there own, when both are plugged in it just only 1 works as normal with the other staying black
