theres this old game from the 90's it was on pc and i think the view was top down, your a thief and carry out objectives, you get chased by the police who can throw you in jail, and it had a sound effect when you finish the level, kinda like a WAH WAH WAHHHH WAHOOOO! i know i sound krazy like im making this up but i really want to know the name of the game! bare in mind i could have got a few details wrong my memory of the game is quite faint.

like i remember playing it in the windows 95/98 days. Like i think your the crook, you gotta find money, i really don't remember the gameplay aspect, but i suspect it might of been popular as me and my brother used to love it, but neither of us could remember it too well.

That's what I thought. Fits the description of being old (released back in '98 amazingly!), top-down, where you're a thief carrying out objectives.

I remember that sound effect being on a game called Ibex The Viking on the Archemides and im sure it was used in other games.

I think this is a game that I remember as "They stole a Million" on the Commodore 64.
It was released as "The Clou" on PC (if I remember rightly), and there was also a sequel called "The Sting".
I'm pretty sure that's what you're looking for.
