Hi Guys,

I need your help as i have the below specification;

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) @ 4.00GHz
Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 Motherboard
Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle
Coolmaster Cosmos RC1000 case - will all fans replaced with Scythe Kaze-Jyun (1900 rpm)
Corsair H50
Asus 6870
OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB

I am now looking for a better cooler, as I don't think my Corsair cooler is working well and I believe it's out of warranty.

So I am looking for a better air which I will drop my temps and please note that my ram have heat sinks. I will hopefully be placing the order around 13:00 Uk time.

I will be looking forward to your help and thanks in advanced.

Bashy.

It's a two year warranty so can't have ran out yet.

What sort of temps are we talking here?

What's your vcore set at?

Have you tried push/pull or just better fans?

It isnt out of warranty, but to my mind corsair have egg on their face as they made out they had watercooling for the masses. It was air cooling that looked like watercooling for the masses.

Improve your case airflow. A h50 unit should work well, but you need to make the air coming to it icy cold.

Trust me it isnt worth a new 'top notch cooler'. Learn your lesson the hard way; by waiting 0.2 seconds for windows to boot- because on a good day that is the difference a 30 quid and an eighty quid cooler will make.

Chill with what you have, improve the cool air you feed it and learn how to pick with the new gen.

Try to answer these questions first before you run out and splash the dosh.

i find the H50 does a great cooling job on i7, 4hz , dont go over 70c in linx or prime, daily use games ect, never saw it go over 60c.
have u got it set up with pull/push fans? tryed taking it off & cleaning the dust on the radiator, 5 mins job :) little things like that can lower temps.
as above thou, no 1 knows what your temps are :)

Thanks all.

I have just spent 4 hours cleaning my out out all the parts on my pc and then re-building it. Also I have used net as dust filters on all the fans in my case.

I will be spending all my day tomorrow overclocking my pc from scratch upto 4GHz, but the only thing is can never get the hang of are the voltages. So can the expert overclockers roughly advise me what voltages do I know need to get my pc stable ?

I will hope put another post up end of tomorrow or Saturday with my bios settings, which I hope someone can help me improve and advise better settings.

Bashy.
