need help restoring vista!

Does anyone know how i get the ‘load last know good configuration’ up on boot up, i can get safe mode but nothing more, really need to do a system restore, but can’t due to an error.
For the record i ran ccleaner and somehow deleted all my start-up entries in error, i now i get loads of boot up errors qnd errors when trying to run any services. Really really need to restore or somehow roll back. It's a friends laptop i have cocked up and i don't have the original windows disc, i do however have a windows home premium disc i can some how do something with that?

So what do you get when pressing F8. It usually gives you the options for all the forms of startup + last good known configuration

i get last known config, but that does not do much, i can get to system restore, however it just gives me 4 restore points from yesterday, so i take it that it's a limited version of it. I can get into windows but can't get any services to work.
 
if you can get into windows, then restore the backup that ccleaner prompts you to make

you made a backup of the reg file yes? NO!

er i don't recall it saying that it wanted to make a backup, and i have now uninstalled it, i know i'm a plank, but yeah it's killed my start items, however i ahve turned them all back on under MSCONFIG, some stuff loads, but nothing that helps me :(
 
sounds trashed

was it the reg cleaner part that broke it? (i've never had it break a pc, but i've seen others in the past)

it def asks you if you want to create a backup for that
