OK having a few issues here, I decided to poke around with my system and I enabled auto over clock on my motherboard utility for my i5 2500K cpu

completely new to this, and now I realise that id rather not have this over clocked as I really don't know what I'm doing, I'm concerned a bit about burning out the cpu, and since I pretty much use this computer for work, there's not much point over clocking it.

Can anyone figure out what I've done based on these images below and how I can restore it to stock. For some funny reason the utility only allows "fast" or "extreme", LOL, os default doesn't do anything, there is no "normal" or "standard" setting

thanks, feel like such a wally for not thinking that, i assumed the utility would just load the settings at launch.

back to 3.3ghz.. pheeww

touche.

I'm using a h50 cooler, those pseudo watercooling things.. Am I right in thinking that these are just complete gimmicks and aren't able to support high level overclocking?

When I had my rig from 3.3.ghz stock to 4.4ghz from ^^^^, I went on bitcoin generator just for the hell of it to see how fast it can perform.. all cores went up to 90% on the CPU monitor and temps rose to 80+ degrees celcius.

On stock settings and 30% fan usage the temps are a cool 35-40 degrees on idle.

Was a bit surprised to see that happen to be honest.
