Hey guys need some serious help with my Galaxy S

• First off I rooted my phone and was messing around with skins etc; that was going well until I messed it up a treat and bricked it to high heaven.

• I then purchased a JIG and managed to put it into download mode and done a fresh install with the leaked Gingerbread rom (2.3.2) via ODIN.

• Then got annoyed with how sluggest and buggy gingerbread was so I tried returning it to Froyo... but that didn't work aswell as I'd hoped...

• It's now been through ODIN half a million times, trying everything... and it wont stop force closing...

SYSTEM RESTORE does not work what so ever. Infact it just restores whats already on my phone (which is 50 odd forceclosing apps) And nothing can be uninstalled, deleted or even formatted. It all restores itself every single time. It's like my crap and hardcoded itself into the system restore.
SAFEMODE will not boot
DOWNLOAD MODE works but no ROM fixes the force closing. (via ODIN)

Any suggestions?

I really just want my phone unrooted, back to stock and usable via kies again. Rooting and ODIN just isn't for me...

While you're doing this the latest version is 9.4 so i'd check his site but once you have done that guide you can probably going into the darky config tool, set your options then use the image from 9.4

Go to a mid level rom I think from mem jm8 ? Look through the huge samsung galaxy thread and search for posts from jabbs I'm sure its him who has posted some info on it . Of not search your prob on google and you will find the answer

Doesn't work... the phone just doesn't turn on after the first stage (stays on logo)
:'(

Do you get the speaker saying "ready in approximately 2 minutes" after the PIT/PDA flash or does it stay just in the white logo for galaxy S screen? It takes about 3-4 mins to switch into recovery 2e through resurrection from my experience but if you're not getting even to that I think it's game over warranty time.

Yeh but I gave it 10 and it did nothing...

Terminated the contract using CPW's ACP in the end. So I'm waiting on my Xperia Play to arrive in the post now.

Thanks anyhoo :D

Try the new gingerbread ROM, JVK.

Remember to select a PIT file, the relevant 3 files (modem, phone, csc). Remember to select repartition. After flashing, don't bother to do anything. Turn phone off, access recovery and perform a factory reset. Then turn on an use as normal.

The first leaked ROM, JV1 was indeed very buggy.

This implies you got it to the Kernel conversion of voodoo lagfix - this is a good sign. If you still want to recover it you can flash it again with a different rom (probably one that isn't running voodoo). You might as well give JVK a go as a dead phone isn't worth a lot through ebay and it's a legit, samsung rom.
