I've been at this for hours and still struggling!

Best i have is my normal SKY network than can access the internet, and a separate network i setup using the airport utility.

For me to play music via 'Remote' via the iPad to my hifi i need to put the laptop (itunes library) and iPad onto the new network i created, but the new network cant get onto the internet, i need to switch my wifi connection back to the sky one for that.

Where the Airport express is, it has the option to be either be wireless or connected to the router via ethernet (of which it is now).

I tried creating a single network but the laptop would'nt connect to it.

Anyone got a simple guide i can follow to set it up properly?

The only use for Airport is so i can play music through my hifi from the ipad.

Are you setting it up form a Mac of a PC? You need to setup the Airport to connect to your Sky router first, you may need to reset the device by holding the reset button down on it for 10 seconds whilst it is powered on. Once reset my Mac found my Airport as a wireless network and I connected to it, the config utility started automatically and setup was very straight forward.

I tried that but laptop wouldnt connect. I can try again. Is that what you did?

I set up 2 air ports for people

both times I told them to attach to an existing wireless network pick the network and type in the key.....

its just a device on the network, you can see what IP it gives you and ping it to test its attached properly...

Sky---wireless--airport

Tell the airport to "join existing wireless network", chuck in the encryption and password, and click OK.
