I've just decided to buy a new xbox360 after not having one for a year or so and i was wondering how do i set up the surround sound for it.

I own the SAMSUNG HT-D455 5.1Ch DVD Home Cinema System which can be found here:-

Manual can be found here if you need to have a look at the back of it

I also have a SkyHD box connected to it as well which has the optical cable connected to the Samsung HT-D455

Thanks.

Looks like you are limited in that you only have a single optical in. Just grab a 3 Way Digital Optical Splitter off the bay. £10 and its sorted.

You have one optical input which you're using for Sky, and a pair of phono inputs. There's also the ARC (Audio Return Channel) if your TV is compatible.

XBox cable with audio on phonos - Connect to the AUX input on the back of the Samsung 455

XBox via optical connection - Buy an Optical Switch - connect Sky to switch, connect Xbox to switch, connect switch to Samsung 455.

XBox via ARC on TV using HDMI - Connect XBox to an ARC compatible TV on HDMI. Check the TV manual to see if it is a) compatible, and b) will also pass audio from an external source and not just audio from the TV tuner
