Need help speccing cheap LAN PC

So my wife and I are wanting to play Empire Earth 2 via a LAN connection.

Could anyone help spec me up a PC that would run this no problem? I'll be installing Windows XP and it'll remain offline.

There's no 'budget' for say, just cheap and cheerful will do.

It's just for some fun!

You can find pre-built PCs being sold 2nd hand that go for ~£100 that will do that for you, just look around. Otherwise making something new will cost around ~£200.

Minimum system requirements - Windows: XP / Vista / 7, 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon or faster processor, 512 MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 4 or DirectX 9.0c-compliant 128 MB 3D video card with hardware T&L and pixel shader support, minimum screen resolution of 800x600, DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card, Mouse, Keyboard.

I was so silly looking all today at Intel and Nvidia. Totally forgot about AMD.

I take it AMD is just as reliable just aimed at a lower end of the market?

Is the processor overclockable?

Second option seems a bit more like it, would like to run other programs on it as well.

Can't believe you can get a 120gb SSD for 39.99!! I remember when they were like £250 and that was only a few years ago!

APUs work, only problem is theres not much option for future upgrades.

Well as I mentioned, it's only for empire earth 2. Maybe Internet, music, videos ect. So I doubt there will be much need in the near future.
