Hi welcome

Is a wired connection not possible ? That will always be the best option although it can be difficult/awkward to run cables if the router is a long way from the pc. The 2nd best option imo is powerline adapters as I find they work better than wifi adapters. As long as you have pretty good household wiring then they are good and reliable.

Do you just need internet for a pc ? Or do you need an actual wifi connection as well for things like phones/tablets etc ?

Someone should start a thread asking for advice on wired connections to see how many people tell them "well done this is better than wifi".

They asked for wifi advice, not to be told its the 3rd best option they have. Everyone know that a wired connection is the best option!

Nothing wrong with asking the question. It might just be a case of him not wanting to run cable for whatever reason. He also might not be aware of powerline adapters. A wifi adapter should be the last resort.
