I was wondering if anyone could help me spec out a desktop PC. I’ve been asked by a friend to find a desktop PC and monitor (not keyboard or mouse) for £1,000. The monitor has to be curved and less than 32inch. There is no preference to freesync vs. gsync and there is no preference for Intel vs. AMD. The PC will mostly be used for gaming.

Including a curved monitor at that budget is proving to be difficult. Do you know of any popular specs in this price bracket?

Many thanks in advance 8-)

If he want's a screen with those specs along with a system the system will be ****

Expectations need adjusting and money spending proportionately to get a good system with an appropriately good monitor.

this is the best i can do with it but i 100% as above would not recommend buying this.. The whole setup makes no sense.

This below is something i feel is a much better idea with the budget.

I would never go above 27" with 1080p that is because it will start to look awful and 1440p is too expensive for the budget.

The cpu is much faster as is the GPU so you will actually be able to use the 144hz instead of being pulled back massively by them on the other build.

Why a curved screen?

He's seriously limiting his monitor choices, and given he wants something of standard resolution (under the size of an ultra-wide pretty much) a curved screen isn't going to do a lot for him.

I wouldn't want a 1080P screen for a £1500 budget when you could fit in a solid 1440P/IPS panel.
