Just finsihed my new build, went to flash the bios because im running the new 8400's and using a p5k-e wifi mobo

Before booting i put the memory stick in the wrong way up and now it wont recognise it :(

And i heard that after booting once, if you shut it down it wont post again

So is it possible to flash it any other way once its on, like a cd or anything

Thanks in advance

How did you manage to put it in the wrong way up

If you haven't got to the flashing process yet then you can boot up and down as many times as you want, unless im getting the wrong end of the stick?

Most likely because you have bent the internals of USB slot or mem stick. ;) Im confused as to how exaclty you manage to put it in wrong way round without great force applied?

Or am i reading OP wrong here...

I dont know how i did it either, been so concious about everything else. also the mem stick i was using can be put in both ways up on a USB port

I was referring to the issue that is allegedly plaguing the old bios version whereby they will boot up once and then never again unless you flash them straight away

Although those reports were with the 06** versions of the bios and this one is running 0703 so does anyone know if it will let me reboot?

Ah i see, never knew such a mem stick existed. :) If you havent wiped old BIOS or flashed new BIOS then surely reset wont do any harm in theory?

Ok it's all sorted now, the 0703 bios version will let you reboot, so this time it flashed ok. :)

Just waiting for vista to finish installing now
