Hi , i finally got a evga 3060 ti yesterday and works great, i only play fortnite and i get 300fps on low settings , but when i try medium , high and epic settings the picture quality is no better and really stutters and is unplayable. Does anybody know why as im new to pcs this is my first one since switching from xbox last month. Im thinking maybe its my cpu or my psu . I did have a 1050 ti i bought temp till i got the new card which worked ok aswell.

asus strix z490g motherboard with wired internet
16gb corsair vengeance 3000mhz
1tb m.2 ssd samsung 930 evo
i5 10400f cpu
evga 3060 ti
nzxt x53 240mm cooler
3 nzxt 120mm exhaust fans
fractal mini c case
corsair tx 550w psu gold
asus vg249q 144hz 1080p

thanks for reading

Try enabling Vsync.

I do that on my PC, I do it at the driver level.

Or have you checked Display Properties to see if monitor is running at 144Hz?

hi i havent tried v sync yet i wasnt sure what it did to be honest my monitor is set right to 144hz 1080p thanks for reply

Do you have the same problem running in dx11 mode, dx 12mode and performance modes? Dx12 beta mode is usually best.
BTW fortnite looks miles better in low graphic mode. You can run some settings on epic like view distance and textures but aliasing, effects and shadows( personal preference) etc should be off otherwise it looks like a blurry mess . I don't even like the post processing effects. Make sure dlss is off as that stuff is a joke, anything that's not directly In front of you is like wearing milk bottles as glasses. I also turn up sharpening in the nvidia control panel. When you up the settings is Ray tracing off? I'd advise leaving it off as the performance hit is huge for zero gain and is the 3d resolution at 100% each time you go up from low med high epic, if not at 100 %the game will look worse
Your psu and cpu will be fine. Is your memory running at 3000mhz? And in the correct slots? Tried default ram settings instead of xmp? Is xmp on? Intel chipset drivers installed? Might be worth removing gfx drivers and reinstalling if you just swapped cards.
U tried with gsync/ gsync compatible on/ off in nvidia control centre rather than vsync. I see your monitor uses freesync. I swear by that stuff, make sure it's working in nvidia cp. Try capping your frame rate to 144 in the in game settings.
I have a 3060ti too for reference...and I tried it in my friends 10100f and it runs just as nice as my rig although he is blind as a bat and prefers epic settings :) even his 970gtx on epic settings runs smoothly.

hi Crimmey i tried again last night and there was an update on nividia for my drivers released on 7/1/21 it seems to work fine now a little bit of stutter at start of game but then plays fine and still reaches 200+ fps withbverything epic but shadows still off and view distance far and 3d res 100 ill try dx12 tonight as i have never used it i was told it runs bad and less optimised on that but ill try it tonight. im looking at upgrading to a 240hz monitor next im loving the fps from the 60 on xbox lol. thanks for the detailed review as my friends are new to pc aswell so no one could help haha.
