At the moment I've set out the current components which I'm going to be using for some casual gaming and it'd be nice to have the graphics on high settings for a change as well as some CAD work in CATIA. I do tend to have several things running at the same time, playing games whilst watching youtube videos etc etc.
YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC ACX Dual Bios 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (02G-P4-2776-KR) £275.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £169.99
1 x Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £157.99
1 x Corsair Vengeance RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11R) £79.99
1 x Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Case - Black (CC-9011014-WW) £65.99
1 x Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SV300S37A/120G) £59.99
1 x Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo CPU Cooler £19.99
Total : £844.03 (includes shipping : £11.75).

My target budget was £800 but I could stretch it to £900-£1000 if there were significant improvements to be made. I've already got all the peripherals, monitor, OS, etc. My only concern being i think my 1TB hard-drive is SATA2 not SATA3 but I was planning on putting the OS on the SSD anyway...
My issue here is I don't know whether these components are giving me good "bang for my buck"?
For example:
Is it worth getting the EVGA GPU for £30 more than the MSI Gaming Edition, is there an equivalent AMD that'd give me better performance for the money?
And is the motherboard I've selected over specced?
I'm trying to shave some money off any of the components I can without compromising too much on performance. I've specced the K series i5 and a cooler even though I have never overclocked a computer in my life on the assumption that it's actually worthwhile overclocking it for everyday use/casual gaming? Or is this really for the hardcore gamers out there? (Sorry if that's a particularly dumb question...)
Also, is the case and cooler I've selected worth the money? And could anyone recommend a good power supply. I did have a 750W picked out but decided I'd find out what I actually need first instead of just aiming to overshoot.
PS.
I'm not particularly attached to any part of this build so if I've made a series of unfortunate mistakes in picking these components I'm open to anyone recommending a completely different build that'd get the best out of £800-£900!
Cheers!
