Hey guys recently my plantronics headset has totally given up on me as a mic and i play around 2 hours a day so i need something asap. Im looking at two choices right now :

- Some Sharkoon X-Tatic's for just over £60 - These headphones have 5.1 surround sound and plug into the 360 as well as my PC (i will use both) The only problem is the price. I really dont want to spend over £45 on some headphones and a mic

- Some Senns' (550?) for about £55 - These headphones are supposed to be amazing for use with 360/pc. BIG disadvantage = no Mic. And that is the thing im looking for. I could buy another 360 mic (and wear it around my neck) but im afraid that it is going to break like my last one.

I dont know what to do so advice is highly appreciated. I need a good MIC which will last long. Only reason i dont want to buy a wireless one is that i have to charge it- anyone got a halo3 one? Can you charge whilst playing? and is it reliable (not gonna break easily)??

I cant help you with your questions regarding wired headsets, but i can tell you that you can't charge the wireless headset while playing, the unit seems pretty durable though

As long as you ensure you always charge the headset after you finish playing it should be fine, the battery life isnt exceptional on it but you shouldnt be playing a game for 7 hours straight anyway. From what i remember you dont have to have the xbox 360 'on' to charge the headset as with the controllers

Thanks for the help mate. The fact that it charges whilst the 360 is off is actually quite good. Is it ok if you leave it plugged in overnight? And 7 straight hours is normal for me on weekends sometimes. lol

You might just get away with 7-8 hours with the Halo 3 one, Im assuming its the same as the Xbox 360 wireless headset (which I have). Mine used to last around 8 hours on a full charge, now its more like 6, It also takes 4 hours for a full charge (with the mains charger, dunno how long it takes with the USB one)

I know my 360/headset hasnt caught fire from doing it yet so i cant see why it would be a problem, the way it fits around the ear might take a bit of getting used to though. I havent timed how long it takes to charge but i know it wasnt fast so im guessing the 4 hours that kalanium stated still holds true for the usb version

I always find that headphones are quite poor if you go for the cheaper ones. The audio quality on some of the more expensive ones are astounding. My last headphones were £85 and they were brilliant, but still a mile away from the best.

i just bought a wireless one, standard 360 one cos it was cheaper now the H3 one is out, and its great for the most part, but when i go and sit at my desk thats about 6-7feet away from my console, the voice and sound starts to cut out for me and other people. seems to be something to do with my PC or amp on my desk i think???

to be honest i find my self using the wired one more :(

I've got the X-Tactic headphones. Best money I have ever spent tbh, the 5.1 is good and the communications across live is top notch, never once had an issue with the communication, I can hear what people are saying clearly for the first time ever (I can even understand gordys)

I just marvel at how much i hear in game now.

The only disadvantage is... I shout a lot louder.
