I have built a few atx machines a couple of years ago. I stopped gaming so I have not got myself up to date with all the hardware stuff :\ I am thinking of build a small pc just for counter-strike: global offensive (half life 2 : portal 2 engine).

CPU : intel i5 2300
RAM: 4G x 2 1600mhz
HD : WD black 750gb

which case? which motherboard? which psu? -_-

What's your budget, are you planning on using an onboard GPU or dedicated and if so do you have any ideas on that? Also do you have any preference in shape - HTPC, box or just as small as possible or as silent as possible?

I would like to have all the components in a cubic shaped case if the graphics card can fit in I'm thinking of using an ATI 6950 but I'm not sure if it is too long and generates too much heat.
Yes the machine is just built for cs:go and csromod!
I think my current desktop is too old for half life 2 games as I want a consistently high fps. It has E5200, 2G ddr2-800, GF6800GS (256/256), antec 300 case, antec truepower 500w.
Silverstone SG01/02 look fantastic but I have no idea about what components can fit in -_-
