Need Help with ANNOYING problem plz.

Hi

cut long story short, i bought a 1 gig ddr 3200 stick of ram for my computer, shut down and restart, everything is fine, got into windows to find that it was on the lowest resolution. No problem, tried to change the resolution but it would not let me. after countless uninstaling drivers for the gfx card (7800gt) and various other thing, it was all no use. So i decided to reinstall windos again( was about that time of year anyway) but again no luck.
tried the original ram, and no use. Using windows xp sp2.

so what the hell is going on?

any help would be appreciated please.

only thing that i suspect now is a broken gfx card, but everything seems to be fine. I am using a dell 3007wfp monitor so you can imagine it looks horrible on screen at low resolution.

even trying installing drives from dell for the monitor. If the gfx card is broken, what is the cheapest dual dvi gfx card that actually works with this monitor?

Hmm, could be the motherboard as in theory that's all you've changed by putting the memory in and out, have you tried reseting the CMOS etc?

I know its a long shot but it could do the trick, or try another graphics card?

It's deffo worth a try, would have been the first thing I would have tried tbh
