OK so iv had a problem with my computer for a while now, and after much changing of parts the problem still exists.

The problem seems to be in graphically intensive games such as Crisis 2, The Witcher 2 and BF3 alpha. I can run Starcraft 2 and CoD games without a hitch.

OK so the symptoms. These games will run for roughly 5 mins and then cut out completely, the monitor will flicker into standby and then turn on again and the computer will either crash or the game will become unresponsive. There's no blue screen of death or crash report ever, just a freeze then crash which I can only get out of with a hard power down of the computer.

I'm finding it incredibly hard to pinpoint the problem however, let me explain.

Thus far I have changed out the PSU from a 650w Corsair to a 850 Corsair modular. Iv switched out the graphics card from a ati 5870 to an nvidia gtx 480. Iv changed from an amd cpu to an intel i5 along with the motherboard change. Tried different sticks of memory. Iv reinstalled windows onto a different hard drive yet still the problem persists.

Just going to add that iv done no over-clocking and the temps are all good.

Anyone got any ideas as to what could possibly be causing this frustrating situation?

graphic card could have incorrect oc setting, err they are over heating, poor air flow in the case. so a) tone down the setting in game, b) increase fan speed on graphic card to cool it down c) increase or add more fans to the systems.

could be your hard drive, or a pci cards, cd drives or the case power/lights or it could be two components that don't mix.
cause youve changed the hard drive, the processor, psu, ram, gfx, so must be an incompatibility.

suggest connecting only the mobo, processor, hard drive, psu, try that, and then try it with the gfx, and it could even be a corruption within your game cd/file.

Just to reiterate, there's no over-clocking on anything, its all standard. The temps all seem fine, no sign of overheating.

Its all housed in a Silvertone Fortress case all the stock fans inside the case are functioning well and the airflow seems good.
