Need help with Aorus waterforce 1080 ti.

It's probably still under warranty and Gigabyte has UK RMA - maybe worth considering if seller helps with return.

If you mean a PCIe vertical riser kit/bracket then potentially - would the smaller connector from the extension allow you to test the other PCIe slot?
It will but only with another gpu as the riser won't bend so I can test the Aorus I have now.

Led should be off when plugged in and system turned on.
When they are flashing, poor supply or power, if left on then no power getting to the cards.

RGB is controlled via software and can turn off if not installed
Thanks for the info, I guessed that just needed it confirmed. Both lights are off when I turn the system on.

It's not looking promising for the 1080 - but the trouble is that it's being fitted into a new spec.

Could you try it in a friends/family nVidia powered computer system?

Still no life, but could I have found another motherboard that is not compatible with Aorus waterforce 1080 ti

My setup is :
8700
MSI Z390 gaming pro carbon
Aorus waterforce 1080 ti
16gb corsair ram
corsair 1000 rm

I would have thought you would have seen a few hits if there was a problem with the MSI Pro Carbon and Aorus mix - try a dedicated search on the MSI forums/Gigabyte forums. The Gigabyte rep on here is very active/helpful, @GIGA-Man, he may be able to shed a bit more light on any possible compatibility issues.

Also the seller on eBay was very fast to say they will give me a refund without really asking any questions, apart from saying sorry.

Your suspicion of the seller may be valid - perhaps ask some further questions, he may be surprisingly honest if he suspects that there may be an issue which he thought was specific to his system only.

Or as mentioned before - could you place it into a friends 'nVidia' based system for testing?

Silly question but can you test a water cooled GPU without it be in a loop? I mean just turn the PC on and log in to windows, just to see if the gpu in found.

If the block is still attached to the GPU then it should be able to handle loading into windows for a quick test.
