Hi

I brought an Opteron 165 and an Asus A8N5X. I have been trying unsuccessfully to overclock it.

I lowered the HTT multiplier down to 3x, set the memory to 266, and put the cpu multiplier down from 9x to 6x.

I then started raising the HTT frequency but found that no matter what I do I cant get it to boot over 220mhz. It just hangs at the system summary screen.

I tried clockgen in windows and set it to 215. Clockgen showed the PCI and PCIe locked at correct values, It BSOD'd after about 2 minutes.

This person seems to have the same problem: http://www.planetamd64.com/lofiversion/index.php/t17179.html

Im thinking of returning the board and getting another. I cant afford the DFI Ultra-D so can you give me a list of a couple of others that will do a reasonable HTT. Im not looking for SLI boards, just something thats not to expensive.

Thanks.
