Hi all
I just moved into a property where there was infinity previously but the cable had been cut and box removed. Bt wanted to charge me £140 to send an engineer to reconnect it, which I thought was a lot for a few wires shoo I bought a master socket off eBay and need to connect it up, but I can't find the correct instructions. It's a box that has both phone and broadband sockets and the cake is the normal six wires (blue, orange and green with white and white with each). Does anyone have one of these and is able to take photos to show the correct wiring please?
Thanks

Bt say there is still a line there and will activate it, but will charge for an openreach engineer as they believe it's an active line. The previous owner must have removed it when they cleared out. I'm in contract from my precious address so it's a home move, so when I ordered I just selected to diy. There is a grey BT box at the front of the house but the cable that comes in and should have the internal bt box on was cut; that's the one I'm trying to wire . It's one of these, has an a and b connection and then a 2,3 and 5 connection;

So I connect the orange and white to the A and B on the back plate, but do I not need to do anything with the 2,3 and 5 connection on the front plate (the left plate on pic 3)? It looks like that is needed for the connector that goes to the home hub.

Do the blues not need to go through to those?

I do have a punch down tool but these have clips so you don't need them,i believe?

Hmmm, ok, so tried white with orange to A and orange with white to B but it doesn't seem to work, the home hub just flashes orange and occasionally purple, then back to orange (and I did reboot, etc)

I noticed there's actually two A and B connectors one on the rear and one on the front plate, presumably I just need to use the rear one (i tried connecting then to the front one but it didn't do anything)

Got there! It was the blue and whites, not the orange. I've just got the blue w/white and white w/blue connected to A and B, nothing else to anything else and I have the phone working and fibre. So presumbly I don't need to do anything to the 2,3,5 sockets unless I want to add extensions but as I'm running cat cable everywhere I won't need it for data, and who uses land phones any more!

Thanks for so many speedy replies everyone, I really appreciate you all trying to help, and relieved to get it done. 9 days with no internet and having chewed through my mobile data allowance by last weekend it feels such a relief to be connected again!

Again, many thanks all! :cool:
