Need help with choosing motherboard, Case & CPU for £200~

Hello. I need help with choosing a new motherboard, CPU and case. I'm looking at around 200ish pounds for the 3 items, and i want to get the best out of it as i can. I plan on putting my current RAM inside the new one. Although it may be possible to buy different RAM if its worth it.

Computer details in a couple posts below.

Thanks for any help,

Desmond.

What is the size, speed and make of the RAM?

With such a tight budget it may be a good idea to reuse the RAM, buy a DDR2 motherboard and install a decent CPU in it (like a Athlon II X2 or Pentium Dual Core).

As for the case, this one is good for the money. I would suggest adding this fan to the front for decent airflow.

I'm not sure atm, I'm not at home. Will get the details of it when I get home (about an hour or so). Thanks.

I've already got a Radeon HD4850 and I only really use it to play WoW. I also have 4GB RAM.

My current system details:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (2.0GHZ)
Motherboard: Acer Model EM61SM/EM61PM
GFX Card: ATI Radeon HD 4850
RAM: DDR2 Corsair PC2-4300 (266MHz) x4 (1GB each)

Was thinking maybe getting:

Case - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-184-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=29

Motherboard - ???

Could someone help me with a motherboard? And opinions on the CPU & case?

As your current RAM is rather slow and low density, I think re-using it will limit your system somewhat. However, with a budget of £200 you may have to take the hit.

I would suggest going for this motherboard if you are re-using the RAM and spend an extra £16 on this CPU. Trying your hand at some RAM overclocking would be a good idea. This spec is just under budget.

If you want to ditch the RAM and go for a DDR3 system, things get a bit more expensive, but it will be faster and give you more future upgrade options. Here is a spec:

As before, I would suggest upgrading to the Phenom II X2 if you think you can find the funds.

The case you picked is great for the money.

What is the brand and model of your current PSU?

Hello. My current PSU is: SP-SS400 400W . Being only at 400W, is that going to be enough power to run the upgrades you suggested if I were to spend an extra ~£50?

Like I said before, I'm looking to upgrade my computer so it can handle doing multiple things at once and running games like COD:MW2 and WOW.

Thanks.

That should work great with the new system + 4850 GPU.

I would suggest removing the link tho, we aren't allowed to link to OCUK competitors here :(
