i have a bfg 7800 gtx and have had it for 4 months.....it currently runs at 69-73 degrees under load, it used to run at 63-65....can anybody tell me why this is...i have also reduced the settings to basic and still running between 69 and 71....this cant be normal

Your lucky to have a 7800gtx that only goes up to 69-73 underload..Mine in the 80's

Your load temps will be higher if your room is warmer then before..Room temp makes a very big difference on all your system Components and system case temps.

Fraid to say it is normal for a card to get into those temps

Over a period of time dust can reduce the effectivness of the heatsink by reducing airflow over the fins. You may want to blow the fan/heatsink with some compressed air?

Do you have a filter in you case that is blocked? This will reduce airflow into you case. Have your m/b/case temps risen as well?

Matt

Where abouts can you buy cans of compressed air? See people using them, but have no idea where i can get hold of em...

My gtx never goes above 52 degrees C on full load and hovers around 38 when idle. But I do have the EE with the 512 dual slot fan on it.
