Need help with mobo...

I have just ordered Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (motherboard)
Got it advised by OC forum member, seems like an amazing board and overclocks 2500k to around 5.0. But I have ordered 2700k with it, and I cant seem to find any overclocking with this motherboard on 2600k or 2700k I am worried that it will under perform... Maybe some fellow members have this config and will tell me about it or have access to some benchmarks (this motherboard with 2600k or 2700k) There is still time to cancel or change the order, but it is running out.

Overclocking a i7 2600K is the same as doing a i5 2500K.

Just check the temps and stability as you go.

Use CPU-Z to see the core speed.

Use Prime95 (8+hours) or intel Burntest (20+ runs) to check for stability.

Use Realtemp to show the core temps of all four cores.

So pretty much if 2500k is capable reaching 4.8ghz on this board so should 2700k?

Well, remember that not all CPU's reach the same results, serious overclockers that try to break records will go through a number of CPU's to find that "good" one that just goes higher using less Vcore.

Saying that, the i7 2700K do seem to overclock better than a 2600K and use less Vcore also - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18335424
