Hi guys i am building a gaming pc that i hope will last me a few years, it's been a long time (10+ years) since i built my own rig and i have a couple of questions about the items i have selected so i thought i would get some other opinions. First of all i am not sure which main board to go for, i have selected two in the list before but if anyone has any other in mind please let me know or if anyone can tell me which is the better board that would be great too! I am also not sure on the psu as i am thinking of sli/crossfire in the future and i wanted to know if the psu will hold up! Thanks in advance!
Oh and my budget was £1000 at first but i have kind of gone past that:D i don't mind spending up to £1500-£1600

I would say that 600w is too little if you ever want to sli/crossfire. Regarding the motherboard I doubt you will see much of a difference performance wise, so just compare the two motherboard in regards to all the ports it has and see which one will suit you more (you might want to more usb ports, you might want more sata 6 ports etc). Also not sure if it's worth spending the extra money on the i7, i5 is usually just as good with most games and the extra money you save could go towards other things.

Hi guys thanks for the quick replies! i am still not sure between the i5 or i7, i am leaning towards a i7 because i have another machine with a i5 in it already! zachcloud thanks for clearing up the board and psu thing for me! and snips86x that build looks very good i think i might swap out the gpu for the 970 or maybe even the 980 as i have had the worst luck with any AMD components in a build!

i currently have a spare monitor, nothing special but i am going to save up for a decent one at a later date. I am looking to run at 1080p with no probs at the moment but i want to go higher after a while once i save up enough for sli. But if i find down the road that 1080p is enough for me then i will prob keep the build as is. I am basically looking for a build that will tide me over for 2-3 years! Oh and i should have stated in my first post that i am coming back to pc gaming after i kind of lost my way and got sucked into that pit which is console gaming! ;D

thanks for the great feedback guys i am going to take a few days and order on monday as for the monitors i would love a 27" but i don't have the space! however the 24" looks very nice and is now on my list as it just about fits in the space i have got! i have also decided to go for the i7 as it fits in the budget......just! haha thanks for the feedback guys you have all made my decisions easier thank you!
