I just bought a MSI P45 Neo Motherboard and my system keeps crashing and restarting. After a lot of searching, I found the problem. My memory is ''2x2Gb Corsair Dominator XMS2-8500 1066 Mhz 2.1V'' and if this ram is on 1066mhz the system restarts automatically but when I put it on 800mhz it is ok. I think it has something to do with the mainboard because in the mainboard manual says '' It supports up to 16Gb Unbuffered 1.8V rams .'' Is there a problem with the Voltage of the memory 'cause it's 2.1 and mainboard is 1.8 so They don't match. What should I Do ?

i would say the incompatible voltage is going to cause you a few headaches.
can you do a manual overclock on that board?

have you updated the bios (is there one available?)

Called DRAM Voltage, just checked the manual - Page 3-20, should be under CPU Voltage.

That's a pain, can you try each stick indivualy just in case you have a faulty stick.

Which Neo is it? Is it the basic Neo or the Neo 2/3/Platinum? If it's the basic one, sometimes called the Neo-F, then from my own experience of the P31/P35 versions they are an unstable bug ridden piece of junk. Terrible boards that MSI have cut far too many corners on.

I tried the each stick but it didn't help.
The model IS Neo-F. What can I do ??

Throw it in the bin. It's that bad. They are an abysmal board of very low quality. How long have you had it? If less than 7 working days return it under the DSR's and get something better.

Sell it on the bay. Sorry. Not helping your problem at all but it is a terrible board. I had problems trying to run a E2180 so tried a E4300 but still was unstable. Tried four different makes of quality ram and three different speeds of ram. Still no joy. Tried three different graphics cards, one from Nvidia and two from ATI. Still no joy. multiple fresh installs of windows with the latest drivers and tried all bios versions. Still no joy. I have now had the misfortune of trying to fix 4 different pc's with Neo-F boards in them. 2 each of the P31 and P35 versions. I see nothing has changed with the newer versions. In the end i returned 2 of them (1 of each) as faulty and got my money back. The other 2 were already in pc's that were brought to me to fix. All had the same problems and were fixed by replacing these terrible boards with decent ones.

Have you tried contacting the place you got it from and told them you are having problems with it. Maybe they will let you return it and upgrade to a better board.

I bought it from ****** Electronics ( I don't know if you know it or not ) and they said because it's been more than 2 weeks, they won't do that. Thanks for the reply anyway. I'll see if I can work with it. If I couldn't, then I'll definitely replace it.
