Need help with my monitor

Hi I just water cooled my pc today but when I turned it on my monitor would not work

Basically when I turn it on it show the bios but not in the right resolution then when windows boots up there is noting just a black screen but if I connect my tv with the hdmi lend it works fine

Anybody any ideas what is wrong with it?

Check your settings in bios. Maybe you can select the right output default

+1 the number of times I thought my pc was dead only to have connected it to mobo instead of GPU, causing to facepalm so hard I nearly hospitalise myself.

It's connected to my gpu display port and hdmi work fine but dvi won't its strange

Sounds to me either the drivers are not working or its the GPU.
could try reinstalling to the latest display ddriver from the manufacturer website.

Is the GPU watercooled? If so what block and did you use a backing plate? What GPU is it?

I have updated the driver to a new beta driver with no joy although I haven't tried to do a clean install.

Yes the gpu is watercooled I used the evga waterblock and back plate for my 780 classified

Just wondering if there is a possible short on the backplate? You could try it without the back plate or remove and reattach it. Did you leave the inside plastic cover on?

No I removed the plastic cover should I have left it on?

On the instructions it say remove the plastic cover you would think that they would say do not remove the back plastic cover . Not very clear instructions.

Does display port image quality match dvi? I'm gaming at 1920x1200. Really couldn't be annoyed draining my loop to take of the backplate

No significant difference in quality DP/HDMI/DVI

ok thanks think ill just stick to dp could be assed pull the gpu apart again lol
