Hello, I could do with some help on the setting up my computer as it seems I might have set it completely wrong for gaming.
I play all sorts of games from high demanding games like battlefield and crysis and Arma to indie games. And Im constantly getting bad performance and crashes.
Ill list my specs:

AMD 8150 8-Core O.C @ 4.2
Noctua NH-D14-2011 Dual Radiator Cooler
ASUS Crosshair Formula V
Kingston 16GB DDR3 1866MHz HyperX Genesis XMP Memory
XFX 7970 3GB Black Edition Flashed 2nd Bios to Official Ghz Edition
Coolermaster GX 750w PSU
Xi-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Sound card
OCZ 240gb Agility 3
2 TB Storage HDD`s
A shed load of fans and a coolermaster HAF case.

BIOS settings:

CPU Ratio: 21, Bus Freq: 200, PCIE Freq: Auto, HT Link spd: Auto, CPU/NB Freq: Auto
CPU Spread spectrum: Disabled, PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled, EPU Power Save: Disabled, Extreme Tweaking: Enabled

Dram timings: 10,12,11,28,6,6,6,8,14,300ns,46,9,6,6,6,Every 7.8ms, Command rate: 2T

CPU Load line Calibration : Auto, CPU/NB Load Line Cal : Auto, CPU Voltage Overcurrent Protection: Auto, CPU PWN Phase Control : Extreme
CPU Voltage Frequency : Auto, CPU Pwn Mode : Extreme

Extreme OV : Disabled
CPU + CPU/NB Voltage Mode : Offset mode + 0.062500
CPU/NB Offset 0.212500

CPU Config : Cool n quiet : Allways on, C1E ; Enabled, SVM : Enabled, Core 6 State : Disabled, HPC Mode : Enabled, APM Master Mode : Disabled.

So yeah, I basically get quite poor performance in a lot of games ranging from what ive listed to medium performance games like Sleeping Dogs, and a few crashes after playing Battlefield.

I`d really appreciate if someone could help me out with basic BIOS settings and RAM timings for my setup, and any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
Steve.

Not very informed on your motherboard, however you could try a few of these tweaks. I think they correlate to my M5A99x. i will look at your mobo manual later.

what is your core voltage and temperatures when you are running prime 95?

Use core temp for temperature and CPU-Z for core voltage. I have the 8350 on a formula z board and a 8150 on a formula board, both overclocked. You have a very small overclock but all your voltage settings are on auto. When overclocking, it is better to manually set the voltage because i find that the auto voltage is always bumped up a bit too high. I would also turn cool and quiet off and turbo off, if you are overclocking.

See if you get instability when your CPU is at stock settings. Play games to test and also run prime 95 just to see if that is okay. To be honest, a 4.2GHz overclock on just multiplier on a 8150 will give you almost no performance boost over stock settings with turbo on.
