Hey there guys, unfortunately, I can't give much as far as specs just yet as I'm at work however the problem is when I start the PC, sometimes it boots, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, if I open the case and swap the RAM sticks from (Stick 1 - Slot 2/ Stick 2 - Slot 4) - to Stick 1 - Slot 4/ Stick 2 - Slot 2) It'll work again. Sometimes I keep getting the W8.1 Blue Screen of "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED".

I'm very tempted to just buy W7 and go back as I'm under the impression either I have a faulty RAM stick or Windows is wrong? I've tried going into Safemode with CMD and trying the /scannow and it doesn't do anything to help?

RAM - Avexir 1600Mhz blue core.
CPU - Intel I7 4770
Mobo - (I believe, but will check again after work Gigabyte Z87X-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard).

Any ideas or suggestions will be most helpful, I have already ordered some new RAM sticks 2133Mhz ones and will give them a blast to see how they work

Really could be many things,
I spent days trying to figure out why sometime my ram sticks worked fine sometimes they didnt,, turns out I had 2 dodgy ram slots. Best way to diagnose hardware IMO is to try it with very bare minimum hardware you can run prime or something on it for a while then add hardware testing after each bit.

Memtest erryday. Put memory stick 1 into slot 1, test for a few passes, if it gives no error move onto the next stick, if not, try the same memory stick in the next slot.

Keep testing until you find the meaning of life, give up, or find the bad stick(s). After you find your "good sticks" after a few passes, run it overnight to make sure those sticks really are fine.

Hey there, this is something I was looking into doing as a next step. I will try running it with my new sticks and see how it goes, if it still doesn't work, does that indicate it may be a problem with my slots?

As I'm unfamiliar with performing a memtest, are you able to supply me with any information that I need to do it? Or any recommended places to obtain this?

If with the new RAM, it doesn't work with the slots try changing to different slots by referring to your motherboard manual as im guessing you have 2 sticks try using what ever it says in your manual and if it doesn't then sounds like you have a surrounding issue with slots which could lead to a mobo issue
