Need help with new Asus Xonar D2 PCI

Cheers for the help, yes its fairly fresh install, i just tried the uni drivers, its weird i can see the sound levels going up and down in windows, but no sound :( I might have to sleep on it tonight, getting tired
 
Yes i have mate, I tried headphones, I might even be tempted to do a fresh install tomorrow. I have a feeling its something to do with the PCI drivers or something. Just see something odd in device manager. PCI to PCI bridge about 7 times not sure that is supposed to be like that
 
Have you made sure you have selected your sound card to be the default device under sound properties in the control panel.

Here's a snap of mine. Right click on your sound card, xonar should be displayed on it again like mine. Select "set as default"

check spdif isnt turned on the the soundcards control panel, might be worth enabling then turning it off.

think i had a issue once where media center would change sound output setting aswell to hdmi/spidif, removing all but speakers fixed it :)
 
Hello guys, I have formated this morning, and the same issue, I have checked in Sound settings and Asus Xonar Audio device is enabled, and when you click test i can see the sound go up and down, but still no sound from speakers.
 
Have you plugged in the power connector?

Xonar D2x requires a power connection as well. It's an old floppy connector which needs connecting to the card and then to a molex from the psu.

It warns you when you install the drivers to power it up.
