hello guys,
Am out of touch which cooling and am needing some help with a new heatsink and fan for my CPU. My temps r getting high and im running on the stock hs/fan atm, would really like to upgrade to somthing more suitable and quieter!
Heres the prob, my motherboard is a striker extreme and has piping around the CPU area and covering the NB/SB etc but im not sure how much room i have. I think i can fit in a 108mm fan but im not sure which measurement is the diameter on the ocuk shop?? i am looking at the Asus Arctic Square CPU Cooler http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-013-AS&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=821&name=Asus%20Arctic%20Square%20CPU%20Cooler%20(Socket%20754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
which says its measurements are 108mm x 106mm x 135mm. Im guessing the 108mm is the diameter??? Also im looking for something that is pretty quiet as my system is tre' noisy!
Also im guessing i need to be careful of height of the thing too lol, should i measure from the motherboard to edge of case to be sure??
EDIT: i should add that my system temps are fine (32-34deg all the time)
Specs you might need to know are:
Antec 900 Gamers Case
Quadro extreme QX6700
Asus striker extreme mobo
2 x 8800GTX SLI (but this doesnt go too near the HS/FAN)
