Afternoon all

Would appreciate some help....Iv tried to use the wizards but the output to my TV isn't right.

First of all its black and white and the picture isn't in proportion to the monitor, so it only shows some of the picture.

If been messing with it for about 20mins and not getting nowhere.
the TV format is set to I Pal not that it makes any difference when changing the format.

Oh and its running from the s video output

cheers

that doesnt do nothing.....just remembering while installing the drivers from the disk......it wouldnt allow me to install the vivo drivers.....so im just looking into that now

GPU in sig:)

Saw that now. Is it set to s-video or composite?

Also this has been a workaround

"Just to clarify, what I actually did was get a wire tie, and cut the insulation off it. Then, using tweezers, I very carefully made a small loop at one end, cut the wire down to the right length, and then made a loop at the other end. I then positioned it inside the S-Vid cable connecting the 2 top pins furthest away from the plastic thing. I think it's important that the length is just right so that the wire is touching the two pins and not the surrounding metal. You need to do this to both ends of the s-vid connector.

What I then found was that it wasn't detecting my TV. So, what I did was go into "Display Properties", "Advanced", "GeForce 7900GT (or whatever yours is)", then in the menu on the left "Tools" and at the the bottom check the box that says "Force TV Display". When I rebooted the computer I was able to switch the the display over to the TV and it's in colour! It says it's an HDTV when it isn't, but who cares, it works."

Its a night mare, just had the same problems with my 7900GS and gave up after days of trying and surfing the web for answers.

Just a couple of Ideas.

1 x make sure you got the correct cable from the back of the card to the cable. Some have different pin numbers in them.

2 x Nvidia drivers can make a difference. I had to go to a old driver to make my 6600GT work 12 months ago

Just a couple of ideas, this got my 6600GT to work but still no luck with my 7900GS

Will they ever get this function to work as it should. Im sure they were not ment for users to start cutting wires and messing with cables.

O well hope you get it working.

Tried the composite and makes no difference....

all cables are correct...

Drivers.....having problems with drivers was using 91.47 gone back to the one supplied with the card 91.33? (due to vid playback) tried installing others but just keeps saying no compatible hardware found

not sure if this is relevant...but for the display it says its HDTV....when it just a normal wide screen TV.

Also does the 7600gt support vivo? cos when trying to install the vivo drivers it says my card isnt compatible..

I have the 7600gt and a non HD Tv, I didn't install the Vivo and have had no problems.

Put display mode onto DualView, Right click the TV - Change resolution to 640x480, click fullscreen video in the nvidia control panel, select video mirror for zoom control and auto detect for full-screen device, open your video in media player classic, put video frame as stretch to window - scale to 16:9 TV and override aspect ration -16:9

Thats what I have at least and it works for me, perhaps it will for you ;)

As for the black and white, perhaps try a new cable.

cheers jonny

after playing with the media player on the tv it auto adjusts it size when maximized:)

as for the black and white...... may have to try a new cable....dont see it being that

omg I just sussed it :)

narrowed it down to a new cable i just bought which converts my 3.5 jack into a 4 pin s video. Typical!

well thanks for all your help, and sorry for wasting time...should have checked that befor i posted..
