For some reason my mum has her CV in a locked PDF which she wants to edit. Document assembly etc are all not allowed and I can't convert it to word format (get a bunch of symbols), can anyone help me remove the restrictions so she can edit it? Preferably a freeware utility, but if not I can email it over to someone with a paid utility if they would convert it to .doc?

Cheers!

PDF to Word often doesn't alaways go well so she might have to recreate it anyway. If you want to email it to me (sig) I can use on it.

Try exporting to a postscript file - file > export > postscript > postscript I think. Open that file up and it should convert it back to a PDF.

Failing that email it me if you want as I have some tools lieing around (can't remember what they're called off-hand)

The only option I have is export to word doc, but I didn't want to subscribe to it in case it didn't work (as I found with the free ones). I sent the file to the address in your sig if you don't mind having a look.

Thanks!

Ah that would be because you need Acrobat Pro to do it (I always forget which features they have in the reader and the pro version). I've mailed you back.

Awesome, that's perfect. She gangs up with my other half about me spending time on OcUk so now I have a comeback!
