Hi all.
Is there anyone that can tell me how to get the sound working on my computer again?

I got a virus on my computer last week and thus had to do a tottal system boot. That was all fine although I did not get the chance to do a driver back up before my computer was infected and hence why I have lost the sound.

I have gone in to control pannel/system/hardware/device manager and I can see wich one is missing but when I ask to update the driver it then asks to search the internet (I click yes) and then it asks me to insert the disk that came with the hardwere (which I do not have) and will not reinstall?

I have had a look at the mother board of my computer and I believe it is a Aopen mx46-533V and the driver would be a Realtek AC'97 CODEC on-board, but I can not find one one the internet that I trully trust as they all look like they asking to do a scan and then a registration then applies along with a charge.

Has anyone had this problem before and do they know of a reliable link that I can use to get it back?

Thanks for reading and for your replies in advance as it is driving me crazy:mad:.
Tom.
