Need help with SATA cable search from hell

I have a tiny Jetway device that I use as an OPNsense firewall. It is about eight years old. Recently, I changed the 2.5” SSD inside. Since then I have been getting occasional CRC errors. Normally, I would suspect the drive, but it is brand new and passes a long self-test. Due to the limited working space, I have a feeling that I may have damaged one of the SATA cables when installing the drive.

The problem I’m having is finding a suitable replacement cable (or cables). Firstly, it’s a 2-in-1 data/ power cable, then it has right angle connectors, and finally, it is about 10cm long. I have reconciled myself to using two cables, but the other requirements don’t leave me any room for manouevre. I can’t find anything. I don’t even know how to describe it. Frankensata? Is that a floppy 4-pin on the board? I feel like I’m looking at something designed by MC Escher. The data cable won’t be an issue, but that power cable. Ugh! Any suggestions?

Have you contacted Jetway to find out the part name & number? I expect they'll be more than willing to sell you a replacement.

If you search for 22 pin SATA you will get somewhere (there are some straight ones on the usual online sellers, and a right angle one on an auction site)

Some Available from the usual China sources though

I haven’t yet. The Jetway site is basic, to say the least. When I look at my device, it has a big EOL over the picture. I bought the box from the mini-itx store here in the UK. I’ll try them.
The power connector looks like a 4 pin molex could you get pictures of it?
Absolutely. I will disassemble and take a pic when I get home in a few hours.
Looks more like a 4 pin JST to me
The manual is not very helpful. Here’s what it says. Not sure if it helps in any way.

PWOUT1 (4-pin): SATA HDD Power-Out Connector
Pin 1: 5v
Pin 2: GND
Pin 3: GND
Pin 4: 12v

That’s exactly what I need except much shorter. Thanks. I was searching 4 pin. I still have a feeling length is gonna be an issue. Let me see. Thanks again :)

Search for "Intel NUC SSD Internal 22 Pin SATA + 4 Pin Cable Angled 90 degrees".

Cables only 12cm long, but can't find a UK seller so may cost a lot for delivery (p+p & import duties).

Does the old SSD work?

Are you sure the cables are fully seated?

You absolute legend. That's exactly what I need. Just bought on on eBay. £12.50 all in. It's clear I need to level up my Google-Fu.

Just looked at the Jetway cable spec. 12cm. Perfect. I have just disassembled the device, reseated RAM, cables, and I swapped the old SSD back in. As the CRC errors were intermittent, I'll have to wait to see if they reappear. I was focused on the cables because the SSD I swapped in was brand new. Keeping my fingers crossed. Faulty SSDs and hard-to-find cables are one thing, failing controllers are another.

Thanks again :)
What model is the Jetway device? It looks interesting.
It's a Jetway JBC323-U591. It's old now but perfect for OPNsense. Two Intel NICs and a N3160 processor that sips power.
