hello :)

im wanting to change some parts in my computer as its waaay too noisy and also having some problems with other issues but im out of the loop a little on whats good/not. I have 8800gtx's in SLI and wanna go to just 1 card (1 card, half noise/half heat??), that part was easy i have chosen a card already. But I would really appreciate some help replacing my PSU (enermax galaxy 1000w) and CPU heatsink (tuniq tower 120) as they are way too noisy and both huuge!

edit: the case it is in, is an Akasa ecplise 32.

My full current spec is :
Quadro extreme QX6700 @ 2.67GHz|EVGA nforce 780i ***|
2 x 2gb Ocz Reaper pc2-8500| 2 x 150g raptors (sata/raid 0)|
2 x 8800 GTX 768MB (SLI)|SB X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS|Enermax Galaxy 1000W.

I understand that i wont get 'silent' without spending loads on ssd's/passive cooling etc but would at least like to cut the sound dramatically, plus although my temps are fine i dont like how close my psu is to my hs&fan (see pic below). There is actually a gap but it cant be doing it any favours, the psu is still as noisy though without the tuniq there. So i have ruled out that the heat is causing the psu to work overtime thus make more noise!!

ok the PSU im looking at is the - Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS

is that going to fulfill my needs?? the reviews i have read are that it is quiet?

CPU hs/fan i have no idea, i dont want to overclock my cpu but would want decent cooling ability as these chips run fairly hot, im guessing a zalaman/noctua of some sort would be the quietest and would be a great deal smaller.

Really appreciate any help and thankyou in advance!

raptors are noisy as hell

Get rid of those for starters, raid some spinpoint f1's and ill doubt youll notice a difference in speed

noctua coolers are AMAZING and super quiet that would be a good upgrade too

have you tried turning the power down on the dial supplied with the tuniq ?

alternativly slot a quieter fan into it.

that psu will be fine.
