Ok guys, need some help here.
My on-board sound on my motherboard doesn't work. When i plug anything into the audio ports on the motherboard the computer doesn't pick up my headphones. I have tried my speakers which are optical and same the board doesn't pick up anything is plugged in. I have reinstalled windows multiple times, reinstalled MB drivers and Sound drivers, no luck. So I just came to the conclusion it was ******.
So i went a got a Sound Blaster Z sound card and have had it for at least 2 years now. But for some reason the last few months i get a pop/crackly randomly when in games/listening to music, most things. But mainly in games i notice it.
I've tested this with my speakers (Edifier C2XD) and same thing, So headset (Sennheiser Game One) isn't the issue. Now the issue is i can't test if its the sound card because i can't get audio from the motherboard to rule that out.
From what I have worked out its either the motherboard or the sound card.
Any advice?
