Hi guys...to cut a long story short I tried to add some security settings to my D:\ partition where I keep all my files etc...by just making me (admin) the only person to see them...(Drive D:\)

But it seems to have turned into one big *****g mess, and now even though I have tried all this change permissions and take ownership ***p I still cannot view certain files like some of my pictures or pdfs etc....and what amounts to whole load of what must be hundreds if not thousands of files!! :( It seems to be randomly allowing access to some things and not others.

Have searched on the net for a solution, ie: some sort of 'take ownership' reg...doesnt work....an ownership reg batch file cmd prompt thingy...doesnt work either :(

All I want to do now is just get back to full unsecured/unrestricted access to ALL of my D: drive...

Can anybody help? I want to remove all security/permission settings from my D:\ Drive

Thankyou
Mick

BTW: I am seriously thinking about going back to XP...its a proper ball ache all this permission to this that blah blah....I'm the administrator dammit...just do it!

Not stressed at all! :(

There is only me that uses my pc and I'm the admin, is that what you mean?

Edit: ok tried to run the thing as admin from a right click, but I have a load of files/wedding pictures/zips/pdfs I cannot access, even tho I can see they exist :(

No.... in the Start Menu type CMD... then when cmd.exe appears at the top of the start menu, right click on it and select Runas Administrator... then cd to the DIR your .bat is in and run it from there :)

OK silly Q: I've moved the program 'Ownership Changer 1.0' to my C:\ drive....done what you have mentioned above re: cmd.exe...cd to c:\ but what do I type next to run ownership changer.

Thanks :)
