Need help!

Hi guys, I'm after a new monitor for my new i7 computer. It'll be mainly used for gaming, day-to-day PC work / internet browsing but also would like to connect a Playstation 3 to it (not sure if that means it'll have to have a HDMI input?). Dont know much about monitors but have come across the Philips 230C1 (unfortunately not stocked by OCuk) for £165. This is around the limit for my budget.

Would welcome any suggestions?

Dell SP2309 is apparently superb ive read loads about it but dont actually have one
it is about £190 (at ocuk anyway)
