Unless its me niggling but unless he's gonna overclock the CPU whats the need thermolab Cooler, its £30 that could be spent on something else, like a CD drive that you missed out on.

But tbh £500 is a small amount, try finding sum second hand parts or a tower that is relativity new.

seen a couple of 775 towers going cheap as people have upgraded to i3/i5/i7 setups, so if he is limited on budget might be worth having a look around.

pretty low spec game then, most new/nearly new systems will handle it with ease.

quick question, can you copy the contents of 1 hard drive, to another?

yes you can, if you plug it in as a slave then you copy what you want off of it.
Or if you have an IDE/Sata to USB Adapter you can do it like that.

Reason i put the cooler in is because it gives the option to over clock, or just keep the CPU nice and cool. not a fan of stock coolers.
He also mentions that he could salvage a dvd drive so didn't put one in.

im not very clued up on WoW as its not my thing, is it that computer intense or will anything run it?

if hes using it for wow then really its more cpu intensive than gpu, its made to run on low systems (more people its accesible to the more addicts they can capture )

I used to run it on my amd system with no problems at all at around 45-50fps with settings on medium and 1440x900 res (dropped to 20ish fps in raids but still playable)

Comparing a K8 based X2 4050e running at 2.1GHZ against a K10 based X2 240e running at 2.8GHZ it seems the x2 240e is significantly faster:

The X2 3800 runs at 1.9GHZ meaning that the X2 240 should be fast enough for the job with an HD4670.
