Need Help.

Hi everyone,

I recently bought the following products from OCUK.

I'm struggling to discover if i'm required to put a thermal compound on my motherboard before combining them together, as the motherboard instructions claim that I must.

Can anyone assist?

Always best to put some on before installing the cpu fan, helps in reducing the heat!

Yes friend if the both items you bought don't include you must but check you CPU as it might come pre-applied. I've just installed my Gelid CPU cooler yesterday and it came with the thermal paste. had to put it on my CPU

The CPU comes with a retail cooler, which has thermal paste pre-applied. You don't need thermal paste.

If you get the OEM CPU, then it does not come with the cooler, and you will need a third party cooler, 99% of them come supplied with thermal paste which you will have to apply (unless it is pre-applied of course, but that's not always the case).
