Hi guys ive just put new build together and i went to turn it on the fans go mobo lights come on corsair 105 light comes on then it about 4 second later it cuts off and attempts to restart and does the same thing again???????

spec is gigabyte ga 797x ud3h blk
corsair 105
teamgroup ram crucial 256ssd
evga 750 g2 psu

Have you plugged the additional 8pin atx power into the board?

the 8 pin cable that is split in two lots of 4 on the the top left of the board yes thats plugged in

Try a single stick of RAM, disconnect the SSD.

Reset the CMOS (power off, take battery out, refit).

Are you using a GFX card?

yes a 970 g1. i tried with and without it

Try the other two ideas.

Then its checking the cooler is mounted correctly.

Taking the cpu out and checking for any bent pins.

Building it outside of a case on a box.

i tried with one stick ram with and without gpu. still the same lights and fans start about 5second later it cuts off and attempts to restart. only way to stop it doing it i have to turn off by psu

Think your are going to have to take the cpu out and have a look.

What CPU is it?

Do you have the stock heatsink usually supplied with a retail CPU to use instead?

You did try a clearCMOS?

i took the battery out. cpu is devils canyon i7

This is most odd then.

Build it outside of a case.

Double check all connections.

what can i clean cpu with

to try stock fan

ive tried disconnecting everything no change. u turn it on corsair lights up on cpu and goes off. then it makes a click noise and shuts off after about i say 6 seconds or so.

It stayed on once with the corsair light on and working i turned it off and back to same.

Is the Corsair cooler plugged into the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard?
PC might think no cooler is installed and restart?

yes both was plugged in. Ive fitted the stock cooler with cpu and again u turn it on and it just shuts down after 6 seconds and reboots

Time for it to be outside the case, with just CPU, 1 stick of RAM & stock cooler.
Could be the PSU.
Could be the case reset switch?

meths is fine to clean off paste,used it many times

try with basic setup just one ram stick,no hdd's/ssd's or graphic card attached,use onboard graphics/mb hdmi/dvi port
