need ID to pick up bike?

Just bought a bike on finance, and hand over day is coming up, however i sent my licence off after i passed my DAS and DVLA say it can take up to 3 weeks to get it back. is there another way i could get the dealer to release the bike to me?

what would the ID be for? I'm guessing it might be for the finance?

I've got the itch to get back on a bike!
 
I've done the finance application and all was fine. they are getting the bike ready at the moment and when they call me i can go down pay the deposit and do the hand-over but he said i would need to take my licence along for ID?
 
yeah, i will, the licence is full no restriction.

so i'm not sure why they care, i could for all they know just be loading it on a trailer?
 
ahh ok, so probably won't be able to get back on a bike until i get my licence back.

anybody know how long it's taking at the moment?
