Well just moved into a house, there is a cable from the pole to the house but no socket inside anywhere so i assume its been removed at some point.Am I right in thinking I am going to have to sell a body part to pay BT to put it back in / will they charge me the equivalent of putting a complete new line in?

Is there anyone that would do this for free or at a reduced cost when I take broadband out with them, and with that in mind can anyone suggest who I should go with? I just want broadband, no phone unless it reduces cost or is included free.

As far as I know to get ADSL you will need to pay line rental regardless of if you use it or not. Only virgin can avoid the telephone. I know BT have a set charge for line installs but I seem to recall they will waive it if you sign up to BT broadband for the reminder of your life (or 2 years perhaps). Maybe other providers such as sky, talk talk do similar stuff.

Find out what exchange you are on and use Samknows to see which LLU providers are available to you. LLU is a far superior product no matter who it is with than Any of the BT resell options.
